Families wishing to commemorate their child’s first haircut, known as Surmundan, are cordially invited to Ashtalakshmi Temple. This milestone represents a new beginning, health, and spiritual development for your child.
Our temple honors the eight manifestations of Lakshmi, the Goddess of prosperity, so you can anticipate a really special experience for your child on their Surmundan. Many families select the Ashtalakshmi Temple in the expectation that the blessings of Lakshmi, given at the hair giving, will guarantee the child’s prosperity and a bountiful life.
The Ashtalakshmi Devasthanam can help facilitate a beautiful and traditional Surmundan ceremony. Our priests are available to chant sacred mantras dedicated to Lakshmi while offering the hair clippings.
